Product Description

Custom OEM CNC Machining Part Stainless Steel CNC Milling Service Fast

CNC machining represents the predominant subtractive manufacturing technology in today's

industry, providing an exceptionally versatile and robust method for crafting personalized metal

and plastic parts. Utilizing CAD models, CNC machines precisely eliminate material from solid

blocks using various cutting tools.

Product Details

Materials for CNC machining are typically classified into three major categories: plastics,

soft metals, and hard metals. Examples encompass aluminum, bronze, copper, ceramics,

plywood, steel, stone, wood, zinc, and various others.

Materials characterized by ease of manipulation and favorable properties are commonly

preferred over alternative options.

Common Materials for CNC Machining
Material Properties
Aluminum 2024: Good fatigue resistance and strength; excellent toughness at moderate to high strength levels; improved fracture toughness
6061: Excellent machinability, low cost, and versatility
7075: High strength, hardness, low weight, and heat tolerance
Stainless Steel Excellent machinability and outstanding uniformity; good workability and weldability, high ductility and formability
Steel Alloy Mix of chromium, molybdenum, and manganese yields toughness, good torsional and fatigue strength
Brass Versatile and highly attractive copper/zinc alloy with warm yellow color accommodates severe forming/drawing
Titanium Excellent strength to weight ratio, used in aerospace, automotive, and medical industries
Copper High ductility and high electrical and thermal conductivity; develops attractive blue-green surface patina over time
ABS Excellent impact resistance, good mechanical properties, susceptible to solvents
PEEK High-performance thermoplastic, very high strength, thermal and chemical resistant
POM High stiffness, excellent thermal & electrical properties, relatively brittle

CNC Machining Tolerances

Tolerances are not standardized across all processes and materials.

The final tolerances on your part depend on various factors, such as part size, design complexity,

the number and size of features, materials used, surface finish, and the manufacturing process

employed.

Once your order is confirmed, we conduct a Design for Manufacturing review to identify areas that

may need modification for better manufacturability.

It's helpful if you can specify which areas in your design have critical tolerances that must be met

and which can be adjusted, if necessary, to optimize production time and cost.

CNC Milling Tolerances
Limits for nominal size Plastics Metals
0.5mm* to 3mm ±0.1mm ±0.05mm
Over 3mm to 6mm ±0.1mm ±0.05mm
Over 6mm to 30mm ±0.2mm ±0.10mm
Over 30mm to 120mm ±0.3mm ±0.15mm
Over 120mm to 400mm ±0.5mm ±0.20mm
Over 400mm to 1000mm ±0.8mm ±0.30mm
Over 1000mm to 2000mm ±1.2mm ±0.50mm
Over 2000mm to 4000mm ±2.0mm

*Please clearly indicate tolerances for nominal sizes, below 0.5mm on your technical drawing.

Common Applications of CNC Milling Parts

CNC milling machines offer unparalleled capabilities, enabling the creation of intricate designs

with exceptional precision. This accuracy makes CNC milling one of the most advanced

manufacturing techniques. Here's a glimpse into the diverse range of parts that can be crafted

using CNC milling machines:

1. Aerospace Components: Precision-engineered landing gear components and fuselage structures

for aircraft, ensuring safety and reliability.
2. Automotive Components: Production of control panels, axles, and molds for the automotive

industry, contributing to the efficiency and innovation of vehicles.
3. Consumer Electronics: Crafting components such as enclosures for consumer electronic devices,

maintaining a balance between functionality and aesthetics.
4. Medical Components: Precision machining of surgical instruments and orthotics, meeting the

stringent requirements of the medical industry for quality and accuracy.
5. Oil and Gas Machine Parts: Manufacturing critical parts like valves, rods, and pins for the oil and

gas sector, ensuring durability and performance in challenging environments.
6. Prototyping and Modeling: Rapid prototyping and modeling for product development, allowing

for the efficient testing and refinement of designs.
7. Sculptures: Artistic creations and sculptures, showcasing the versatility of CNC milling in

transforming digital designs into tangible forms.
8. Furniture: Crafting precise components for furniture, ensuring quality and consistency in the

production of intricate designs.
9. Woodworking: Precision woodworking, enabling the creation of detailed and finely finished

wooden components.
The adaptability of CNC milling machines spans a broad spectrum of industries, making them

indispensable in the manufacturing of parts that demand both intricacy and accuracy.

FAQ's

1. Do you offer Quick-Turn CNC Machining?

Absolutely! We provide rapid turnaround times for quick-turn parts, with many available in just

3-4 days. Additionally, we offer an expedite option, and our dedicated team collaborates closely

with you to meet your most urgent deadlines.

2. What are the minimum and maximum dimensions you can machine?

Our CNC machining services cover a range of processes, including milling (3-axis, 3+2-axis,

and 5-axis) and turning. In 3/3+2-axis CNC milling, we can machine parts with dimensions up to

2000 x 1500 x 200 mm (78.7 x 59.0 x 7.8 in.).

For 5-axis milling, the maximum part size is 650 x 650 x 300 mm (25.5 x 25.5 x 11.8 in.).

CNC turning allows for a maximum diameter of 431 mm (17 in.) and a length of 990 mm (39 in.).

When considering smaller parts, we recommend a minimum size of around 10 x 10 x 10 mm

(0.39 x 0.39 x 0.39 in.), with feature dimensions not going below 0.5 mm.

It's important to note that our platform has a maximum part size limitation of 1000 mm (39 in.).

For larger requirements, please reach out to our sales team for personalized assistance.

3. What cosmetic standards do you guarantee?

Ensuring high-quality finishes, all CNC machined parts undergo standard deburring and

edge-breaking procedures. Critical edges requiring a sharp finish must be explicitly highlighted in

technical drawings.

Surfaces are guaranteed to be free from defects such as scratches, dents, stains, blemishes,

hanging marks, and minor imperfections. Specifically, critical surfaces (primary (a) side,

per technical drawings) will be devoid of mill steps and other marks.

On the secondary (b) side, minor hanging marks and up to 2 minor defects are considered

acceptable. To further enhance surface quality, visual appeal, and wear resistance, a variety of

post-processing and finishing methods can be applied to CNC machined parts.
